The department works with a number of local organizations and federal agencies to protect and conserve the land base and waters that support our natural resources.  Works include shoreline protection, wetland management, species inventorying,  and restoration efforts. Staff projects include building an oyster reefs, shoreline plants, installing rain gardens, compiling an ongoing list of plants and animals that are identifiable to tribal members.
